: Water bucket in original condition with United Kindomg’s monarchy royal shield. On it appears the inscription “Honi soit qui mal y pensé”, motto of “The Order of Garter”, one of the oldest cavalry orders in Europe. This order of cavalry is the oldest in the United Kingdom, created in 1348 by King Edward III. “Honi soit qui mal y pensé” comes from the Old French and its translates “shamed be (the person) who thinks evil of it”. This phrase was uttered by King Edward III of England when he was dancing with the Countess of Salisbury. The countess’s garter slid down to her ankle and those around her laughed at the countess’s humiliation. In an act of chivalry, Eduardo put the garter around his leg, saying “Honi soit qui mal y pense “, phrase that later became the motto of the Order. Lower down appears the motto of the monarchy of the United Kingdom, “Dieu et mon droit”, which means “God and my right” On June 17, 2019, King Felipe VI was appointed Knight of such a prestigious Order.
